Testing has shown that by using Ogura’s soft start control in combination with an Ogura PTO clutch/brake can double belt life in an existing application. When electromagnetic clutches are engaged, they want to engage at full torque, all the time, which can put extreme stress on the belt driving the cutting blade. The simple wiring of Ogura’s soft start has two wires coming in from the battery and two wires going out to the clutch.
