What to do if your holding torque changes? (MNB)
What to do if your calculated holding torque changes? Ogura electromagnetic adjustable spring applied brakes are available. MNB units size 1.2 and higher have an adjustable torque feature. Torque of the brake can be fine-tuned to fit individual application needs. Tapped holes for manual release are included on all units. Optional manual lever release lever is available by special order.
MNB series brakes for stopping or holding are rated up to 800 Nm / 590 lb-ft static torque. Torque can be adjusted mechanically by tightening or loosening the nuts that control the spring pressure on the pressure plate. This means that if a particular brake in a given application is stopping too quickly or not stopping fast enough, torque can be controlled to achieve the precise stopping time required. These are often used on heavy industrial equipment, factory automation, electric vehicle parking brakes, and warehouse automation equipment.
Benefits you will see using Ogura holding brakes:
- Brakes provide holding power when voltage is released
- Standard voltages are 24 and 90, but other coil voltages are possible
- Brakes are designed for holding and emergency stops
- Adjustable braking torque
