Founded on a legacy of precision engineering and innovation, Ogura Racing Clutch has been at the forefront of high-performance clutch technology for decades. Specializing in motorsports and competitive racing applications, ORC is renowned for delivering cutting-edge clutch kits that cater to the demands of professional racers and performance enthusiasts worldwide.
Ogura Industrial Corp, headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ogura Clutch Corp, is proud to announce the launch of Ogura Racing Clutch (ORC) in North America. This marks a significant expansion of the brand's presence in the region, bringing its world-class racing clutch technology to a broader audience of automotive enthusiasts and professional racers.
Ogura Racing Clutch has established a stellar reputation over the past 26 years since its introduction to the Japanese racing scene in 1998. Known for their precision engineering and superior performance, ORC products have become the top choice for high-performance tuning and motorsports applications, earning the brand a leadership position in the industry.
Among ORC’s wide range of products, the Racing Concept Series clutch stands out as a race-specific solution designed for vehicles competing in elite motorsport events. The Racing Concept Series has been instrumental in the success of many racing teams, including those in the All Japan GT Championship, where vehicles equipped with ORC clutches claimed the series championship six times between 1998 and 2006. Additionally, ORC clutches have proven their durability and performance in endurance events such as the Super Taikyu series, further solidifying Ogura’s position as the go-to manufacturer for racing clutches in demanding motorsport environments.
With its North American debut, Ogura Racing Clutch aims to bring this legacy of innovation and performance to a new generation of racers and tuning enthusiasts across the continent.
Join the ranks of elite racers who choose ORC for their clutch needs and experience the performance difference for yourself.
Ogura Racing Clutch (ORC) offers a diverse range of racing clutches designed to meet the needs of various vehicle types and performance levels. The lineup includes everything from single-disc clutches, ideal for light tuning, to the triple-disc series, engineered to handle high-powered vehicles producing up to 1,000 horsepower and 723 lb-ft of torque. ORC clutches are trusted by competitive circuit racers, drift racers, drag racers, and street drivers seeking high-performance driving.
The Ogura Racing Clutch brand is built on a foundation of advanced technology honed through decades of success in other markets. This includes Ogura's expertise in manufacturing automotive air compressor clutches, with over 300 million units produced globally. Beyond the automotive industry, Ogura clutches are utilized in a wide array of sectors, including office automation, general industrial applications, and outdoor power equipment like turf care machinery. The same commitment to quality, reliability, and technological innovation that defines Ogura’s other products has been applied to the development of its racing clutch lineup, ensuring top-tier performance and durability for motorsport and high-performance applications.
The ORC Racing Concept Series clutches are engineered using Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis to ensure optimal performance and durability. A chromoly steel flywheel is incorporated to achieve ultra-lightweight construction and low inertia, enhancing engine response. The clutches feature a unique combination of newly developed high-friction (high-μ) and low-wear metal materials, paired with a specially designed diaphragm spring. This advanced design allows the RC303 model to deliver a transmission force of more than 723 lb-ft of torque, despite its ultra-compact 5.4 inch diameter disc. Insights and data gained from the development of the race-specific Racing Concept Series have been integrated into the design of the broader ORC clutch lineup, resulting in high reliability for drift, drag, street performance, and circuit driving.
The ORC range is divided into three primary series: Metal, Light, and Pro Carbon, each offering specific performance advantages. These clutches are available in single, double, and triple-disc configurations, with more discs providing higher torque capacity but not necessarily greater durability. Learn more about Clutch Series Recommendations here.
Each series offers multiple models, including the 309, 409, 559, 659, and 100F. The main differences between models are the outer disc diameter and the number of discs. The numerical designation of each model corresponds to the reference horsepower they are designed to handle. Generally, a smaller disc diameter improves engine response but reduces torque capacity, while a larger disc diameter increases torque transmission but also raises the moment of inertia, leading to reduced clutch disengagement performance. Depending on your specific needs—whether for feel, aggressiveness, or durability—ORC offers a tailored clutch solution to meet your requirements.
Whether you're looking to compete, push the limits of speed, burn rubber, or simply showcase top-tier performance components to fellow enthusiasts, Ogura Racing Clutch is the go-to choice. It’s more than just a brand—it's the passion and commitment to racing culture that sets ORC apart.
Model | HP* | Disc OD |
