Clutch On/Off
An electromagnetic clutch is used to accelerate a rotational load. The clutch is engaged strongly applying voltage/current to the clutch coil. To disengage, stop applying voltage/current. Maximum cycle rates depend upon heat generated, which is a function of an inertia/load at a given speed. Clutches can be either direct driven or can be off-set to drive the load via a gear, belt or sprocket.

Brake On/Off
An electromagnetic brake is used to decelerate a rotational load. The brake is engaged by applying voltage/current to the brake coil. Maximum cycle rates depend upon heat generated, which is a function of an inertia/load at a given speed.

Combo Clutch / Brake
A combination unit is an electromagnetic clutch and brake packaged together. They are typically foot mounted units with an input shaft and an output shaft. The output shaft starts and stops, as required by the customer's control circuit frequency.

Power Off Brake
Electromagnetic power off brakes are designed to hold a load in place and/or to stop and hold a load. They function via springs or permanent magnets. With no power applied to the brake coil, the output hub is held in place. When power is applied to the coil, the hub is released allowing the brake to turn freely. They are typically used in applications where they are required as part as a safety system to prevent a load from turning in case of lost power.

Slip / Tension Control Clutch
Clutches can provide toque control where the clutch is required to deliver a specific amount of torque and anything over that amount, the clutch will slip. For tension control the output toque of a clutch can vary over a particular given range. Ogura has both electromagnetic units and permanent magnet units.

Slip / Tension Control Brake
Brakes can provide torque where the brake is required to deliver a specific amount of torque and anything over that amount, the brake will slip. For tension control the toque output of the brake can vary over a particular given range. Ogura has both electromagnetic brakes and permanent magnet brakes.

PTO Clutch Brake
PTO clutch brakes are typically used on outdoor power equipment and incorporate a combination of an electromagnetic clutch to accelerate a specific load and a mechanical brake to help slow the load when voltage/current is removed from the clutch coil. Typical applications are mowers, saw mills, stump grinders, and other gas and diesel engine equipment.

Air Pumps
Ogura air pumps are used in increase air flow. Common applications are superchargers or engine, high efficiency air pumps for fuel cells and providing air cushions (for material transport).
